Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan, also popularly called the Queen of Funk, is a famous American music producer. She has won ten Grammys in her long career, which spans over fifty years. Billboard Magazine has named her as the 65th most successful dancer in the world. Born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz early on in her stage by her maternal grandmother. In her early years, she performed with various bands. The group she later joined was Rufus. At the age of twenty She released her debut album along as the rest of the group. In the year following the group won their first Grammy. A few years later she made her debut an independent artist and released her first self-titled album. After that, she released numerous albums through the years including 'Echoes for an Era', 'The Woman I Am' and "Funk This.". In addition to her musical contributions, her charitable work has garnered her a great deal of recognition. The foundation she founded was The Chaka Khan Foundation to help kids from families with low incomes, and also children with autism. Khan is also an occasional actor. She played the role of sister Carrie on stage in musical 'Mama I'm Ready to Sing.' Chaka Chaka Chaka
